Joining Together in the Fight Against Diabetes
The Dignity Memorial® network is a Proud Supporter of the Canadian Diabetes Association and a National Strategic Partner of the American Diabetes Association. Because diabetes is a multi-faceted health issue affecting millions of children and adults in Canada and the U.S., our mission is to mobilize the diverse resources of the Dignity Memorial network to fight this disease in our communities and in our lives.
Team Dignity is composed of employees, families and friends of Dignity Memorial providers across the country. Together, we’re working to support the Canadian Diabetes Association and the American Diabetes Association in their efforts to fight diabetes. Through our commitment to Fund, Educate, Act and Treasure, Team Dignity makes a difference in the communities we serve.
Money donated to the Canadian Diabetes Association is critical to fund research, information and advocacy programs to combat diabetes. Dignity Memorial providers support these effort with corporate donations, as well as the encouragement of employee fundraising activities.
More than 3 million people in Canada have diabetes, which means that many of our customers and associates are personally impacted by this disease. Dignity Memorial providers help to inform our associates and communities about health factors that increase diabetes risk and ways to manage this disease.
Dignity Memorial providers encourage their associates to tackle diabetes head-on, with diet, exercise, advocacy and monetary contributions. Though there is no cure for diabetes, we hope that encouraging associates to maintain active lifestyles will help them lead longer, healthier lives.
Those lost to diabetes are dearly loved by family and friends. Dignity Memorial network providers treasure each life story, and help loved ones honour and remember with personalized services and unique Internet tributes.
