IN THE CARE OF
Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home & Rosewood Memorial Park
Deborah Lynn Marie Langley Hughes was born in Annapolis, MD on August 28, 1951 to proud parents, Joseph Earl Langley, Sr. and Marguerite M Langley (nee Dudley). debbi, as she was known to all who loved her, was one of seven kids. On June 9, 1973, she married the love of her life, Louis (Lou) Hughes. After Lou’s graduation from the Naval Academy, his naval career took them from East to West and all the cities on the east coast that had any connection to submarines.
debbi was known to open heart and home to anyone who needed her. Her charming personality, quick wit and love for trivia were legendary. She would just as soon tell you that AquaNet would keep pine needles on your Christmas tree as she would listen to a soul in need. She inherited a love of plants and gardening from her father – this is reflected inside and outside her home.
debbi left this earth on May 13th after battling a lengthy illness. She left far too soon, leaving behind her loving children – Kelly (Shoup) and Christopher – her doting son-in-law, Brent, and her two grandchildren, whom she absolutely adored – Kaitlyn and Jacob Shoup. She is predeceased by her father, her mother, her brother, Joseph E (Sonny) Langley, Jr and her life companion, Capt Lou Hughes.
Services will be held for debbi at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home on May 22nd at 2 pm. Flowers are welcome, but debbi would have loved donations made to either Save the Bay or to Homeless Animals Rescue Team, where she got her beloved cat, Annie.
