Robert Harlan Harris

Ret’d. Lt. Commander Robert Harlen Harris, 88, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 in his residence. Born in Campbell, MO, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn Frances Harris and his son, Robert Harris, Jr. He was an avid reader, his favorite author was James Patterson. He loved to travel abroad and do riverboat cruises. He was always joking, he loved to laugh. He was a die-hard Redskins fan! Left to cherish Robert’s memory are his daughters, Lisa Beck and husband Jeff, and Elizabeth Smith and husband Michael; three grandchildren, Victoria and Brooke Shakelford, and Cassie Waters; great-grandchildren, Jameson and Orion Waters; brother-in-law Bert Scollay; and his beloved cat Ziggy. The family will receive friends at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Rosewood Memorial Park with military honors. Robert proudly served in the US Navy for 20 years and was a Purple Heart recipient.
